Merriman Park/University Manor Neighborhood Association, Inc.

With approximately 700 homes, the neighborhood has a long-established, active, and effective resident association. The Merriman Park/University Manor Neighborhood Association was established in 1978, and it performs many vital tasks, including, but not limited to:

  • Providing a forum where residents can meet and discuss issues and concerns
  • Representing the interests of our neighborhood to ordinance and regulatory bodies, such as the Dallas City Council, the Dallas Zoning Board, and the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board
  • Publishing a neighborhood association newsletter that is distributed to all MPUM residents
  • Providing this web site with important information and newsletter archives
  • Planting and maintaining the landscaping of many of the entrances to the neighborhood
  • Organizing neighborhood meetings including the Fall Festival, a Thanksgiving style dinner
  • Maintaining an active Crime Watch, supporting neighborhood Volunteers in Patrol (VIP) program to augment Dallas Police patrols, and managing Extended Neighborhood Patrols (ENP) by a uniformed police officer in our neighborhood.

Our association belongs to all the residents of our beautiful neighborhood, and it is here to serve our shared interests. While annual dues are completely voluntary, they are important to the ability of the association to meet its responsibilities to its members.
